A recipe & giveaway celebrating the release of Num Noms Series 5!

Num Noms-inspired Easter Chocolate Bark

Happy Easter weekend everyone!

This week, in the lead up to the holidays, my children have been getting creative in the kitchen, celebrating the release of Num Noms Series 5!

Num Noms, for those of you not in the know, are these adorable scented toys, inspired by tasty foods, all the rage these days with children. Nums are soft, squishy, scented and stackable while Noms are hard-shelled characters the Nums can sit on. Noms are either motorised to scoot around, or filled with scented lip-gloss. They smell so delicious!

Num Noms Series 5 has just been launched in the UK. Inspired by one of the Num characters, C.C. Marble – a swirly pink and blue scoop of ice cream with bunny ears – we’ve created this Easter Chocolate Bark recipe. C.C. Marble’s ears are adorned with a large pink bow and she has two closed eyes, a light blush and a happy, open mouth. Her whole life is a whirl-wind!

Num Noms-Inspired Easter Chocolate Bark Recipe Video

The kids really had a lot of fun making this video, playing with the Num Noms and eating the Easter chocolate bark afterwards!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS EASTER CHOCOLATE BARK

  • milk chocolate – I used Cadbury Dairy Milk
  • white chocolate – I used Milky Buttons
  • pink colour melts – I used Rainbow Dust Pink Colour Melts
  • yellow colour melts – I used Rainbow Dust Yellow Colour Melts
  • purple colour melts – I used Rainbow Dust Purple Colour Melts
  • Malt Easter bunnies – use the mini ones that come in a 5-pack bag
  • mini Easter eggs – I used Cadbury mini eggs
  • pink & white marshmallows – like these ones here
  • rainbow sugar strands – like these ones

Use a silicone mat (I use one from a Lékué Basic Deco Mat Kit) or a sheet of waxed paper (or greaseproof paper) to spread out your melted milk chocolate. A note on melting chocolate – I don’t own a microwave (by choice!) so I always melt mine in a heatproof bowl suspended over a pan of barely simmering water. With this recipe, there are five ingredients needing to be melted, so you’ll have to do it in batches, covering the already melted ingredients in some foil to keep it warm until needed.

Start with a milk chocolate base, then drop spoonfuls of white chocolate and colour melts all over. Use something that isn’t sharp, like a wooden chopstick, to swirl the colours together. Decorate as desired, and pop into the fridge for two hours to chill completely.

Num Noms-inspired Easter Chocolate Bark

Num Noms present a whole new way for kids to play and collect. Featuring miniature characters inspired by sweet foods and flavours, such as cupcakes and ice cream, the individually scented Num Noms are the scented collectable that has taken the toy world by storm since 2016. Characters can be mixed and matched to make endless surprising flavour fusions with multiple ways to play.

You can find Num Noms, including the new series 5 featuring Rice Krispies, Roll Cakes, Crepes and Bread themed Num Noms, on Amazon, Argos, ToysRUs, The Toy Shop and Smyths Toy Superstores.

The set featured in this blog post is the Delicious Desserts set with Cupcake Box packaging that doubles as a storage case. It retails for £16.99 and includes 10 Nums and 2 Noms (lipgloss).
