Neutral 0% Laundry Products for Sensitive Skin

Neutral 0% for Sensitive Skin #neutralsensitiveskin #ad

Published on September 10, 2018 by Elizabeth

Neutral 0% is the number one sensitive skincare brand in Scandinavia, with a range of products designed especially for sensitive skin that will still get the cleaning job done. In this post, we review two of their laundry products.

Neutral 0% Laundry Products for Sensitive Skin

Have you ever heard of dermatographia?

The word means ‘skin writing’ (aka dermographism and dermatographic urticaria) and I’ve had it my entire life. I don’t know if it’s because I’m got fair skin and red hair, or if there are some allergic triggers I’m unaware of, but when it flares up it’s itchy, it’s uncomfortable and I end up with these red weals on my skin. My skin gets so sensitive that I can take my fingernail and literally draw pictures or words onto my skin.

It doesn’t last long; the weals will disappear within a half an hour, but it is rather uncomfortable to experience, so I try and avoid it if at all possible.

My husband also suffers from sensitive skin; his skin will randomly react to something in the environment – from the cat’s kisses to certain nuts, or even some fruits. I reckon it’s the chemicals on the fruits and nuts he reacts with, but he’s never been tested.

As such, when it comes to skincare and laundry for ourselves and our children, we have always opted for sensitive skin formulas.

Neutral 0% & the Free From Lifestyle

Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the UK suffer from allergies and this number is growing by 5% per year? Recent research reveals that currently 44% of households are affected.

There is a lot of emphases, these days, on a “free from” lifestyle but much of that focus is put on food, nutrition and what we put into our bodies, not on to them. Skincare and laundry are equally important, especially if you’ve got dermatographia or skin sensitivities like me.

Now available in the UK, Neutral 0% is the number one sensitive skincare brand in Scandinavia, with a range of products designed especially for sensitive skin that will still get the cleaning job done. With 0% fragrance, 0% colourants and 0% optical brighteners they are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested. They have the Allergy UK Seal of Approval and are Netmums recommended. Neutral 0% are also part of the Clean Right A.I.S.E. voluntary sustainability initiative, so you can be sure they’re doing their part the environment.

Neutral 0% Laundry Products

We were really impressed with these laundry products – they get the job done with no perfumes, colourants or brighteners, and since we don’t have a tumble drier (we like the good old-fashioned clothesline and the endless supply of free wind!) we like to use fabric softener to keep everything feeling nice and soft. They’re very affordable too, compared to other leading supermarket brands. I can also rest assured that it won’t aggravate my skin, and it’s great for the whole family too – even the mountains of dirty made by the kids!

Neutral 0% is the ideal choice for those who suffer from skin allergies and irritation. However, please be aware that no laundry product can 100% suitable for everyone with serious skin conditions. You can find Neutral 0% products from in Sainsbury’s; Ocado and Amazon. Visit the Neutral Sensitive Skin website to find out more!

I’ve never heard of the skin condition, but it must be annoying when you have to think about what you wash your clothes in. This product actually sounds like something I would want to switch to. I don’t have a condition but I do get sensitive skin especially in extreme weather (ie. very hot or very cold) so this might help calm down any skin reactions.

I myself have a severe reaction to a lot of washing powders as I have eczema that flairs when I’ve tried different skin products. I love how it gives you soft feeling clothes

People with dry skin conditionad or eczema (like my son) would definitely benefit from using these products.

I don’t have sensitive skin but I did once develop a reaction to the laundry detergent. I didn’t think there was a neutral laundry powder on the market. I might give it a go sometimes.

That seems like a great product for me! I have a sensitive skin but never considered using Neutral for my laundry… We have it here in the Netherlands but I never paid any attention to that. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Will put it on my grocery list and give it a try.

We need to try this. My hubby has such sensitive skin and I’m looking for a new detergent and powder to help him.

We are lucky that no one at home has sensitive skin. I have a friend that has it quite badly. I’m sure she would love to hear about this x

Thanks for reviewing Neutral 0. My son has very sensitive skin and if I don’t prewash new clothes in either homemade or one other brand of washing powder he’ll be so itchy. If he gets too close to many major laundry brands he gets really affected – sleepovers are tricky so he has to take his sleeping bag in case their bedding is too strong!
I’ll try Neutral 0 – hopefully it will be another one we can use for him!

Welcome to Elizabeth’s Kitchen Diary, Scotland’s most northerly award-winning food blog.
