Celebrate Percy Pig’s 25th birthday with this grown-up cocktail recipe featuring your favourite childhood sweets! In collaboration with Marks & Spencer.

Percy Pig on the Beach Cocktail

When is Percy Pig’s Birthday?

Percy Pig sweets were born on the 23rd of July 1992 and they’ve come a long way since then.

From meeting the love of his life, Penny, in 2013, to travelling off around the globe in 2014, Percy has now settled down and is quite the family pig as he and Penny celebrated the arrival of some very sweet additions with a few little piggies of their own in 2015.

This July Percy Pig turns 25! To help celebrate this milestone, and all the incarnations of Percy Pig that have been created since, Marks & Spencer have created this rather fantastic Percy Pig on the Beach cocktail recipe.

It includes Percy Pig vodka, true story! Simply infuse the fruit flavoured sweets in vodka for a couple of days and shake it up in a fruit juice cocktail. Simple!

M&S sells over 300 million Percy sweets each year, which equates to approximately 10 sweets every second! If you lined them up ear to ear, Percy becomes quite the ‘globetrotter’ and will stretch all the way to Hawaii! Aloha!

Percy Pig sweets are a blend of raspberry, cherry, mandarin and grape-flavoured sweets made exclusively for Marks & Spencer.

There’s also gelatine-free vegetarian version so everyone can enjoy them!

Watch the video above to find out how to make your own Percy Pig on the Beach cocktail to help celebrate Percy’s birthday.

Welcome to Elizabeth’s Kitchen Diary, Scotland’s most northerly award-winning food blog.

I’m based in the wild and remote Shetland Islands, where I’ve been sharing my adventure-fuelling recipes since 2011.

As seen on Shetland: Scotland’s Wondrous Isles on Channel 5 and Made of Here – A road trip for the ages through television on the BBC.

“Never underestimate the power of your own story. Life may have taken unexpected turns, but it’s never too late to weave new threads of adventure into your tapestry. Keep spinning those yarns, my friend.
