Issue 23 of our bite-sized review series plus a giveaway worth £70!

Glow and See twisted infinity snood

Welcome to the latest issue of our bite-sized series! This time we’ve got something a little bit different for you: fashion and lifestyle picks! We’ve been trying out some rather fantastic items from hand crocheted snoods with a reflective difference, funky LED shoes, happy socks, adjustable reading glasses and a magazine app with over 2100 titles! There’s a fab giveaway worth £70 plus a link to try out the magazine app for free for one month! Keep reading to find out more!

Glow – This London-based company founded by Comet Chukura, graduate from the London College of Fashion, create light reflective knitwear accessories with a difference. Their crocheted snoods (pictured above), fingerless gloves and leg warmers are fashionable, functional and are individually handmade by disadvantaged women in London, providing them with the opportunity to gain work skills, a supplementary income and be part of a greater community. Each garment has a strip of light-reflective fibreglass fused into its fibres, keeping you safe at night. Prices start from £20.

BEAM light up LED shoes

BEAM shoes – Light up LED shoes for the whole family! If you’re looking for the comfiest dancing shoes going, shoes that are going to get you noticed on the dance floor, look no further! These USB powered light up shoes are available in white, black, silver, gold, pink and blue. The charge will last for a whole night of dancing (8 hours) and only takes 2-3 hours to fully charge. The coloured lights in the soles are red, blue, green, purple, turquoise, yellow and white can be individually selected or you can pick a cycling loop through them all for maximum effect. These are the most awesome shoes ever, I tell you, now I just need somewhere to wear them (school run?!). Prices for women’s shoes start at £64.99 plus shipping. Save 10% with the code BEAMTEAM.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

Happy Socks

Happy Socks – Swedish company Happy Socks was created with one vision in mind: to turn an everyday accessory into a designed colourful item that also spreads happiness. With a wide range of funky designs for men, women and children, there is sure to be something for all tastes and styles from dots to stripes, paisley patterns to pineapple designs and everything in between. They even do underwear! A pair of women’s socks cost around £9 while a pair of children’s socks cost around £10. That’s our summer holiday socks sorted!

Eyejusters Adjustable Reading Glasses – I’m not going to lie, I’m a woman of a certain age, and my eyes are beginning to reflect this. I was prescribed varifocals at my last optician’s appointment; a badge of middle age hood, no? These glasses from Eyejusters are perfect for those who find they need reading glasses. With separate left and right dials hidden from view, you can adjust the strength of each lens individually from +0.00 to +3.00 D. With 17 different models to choose from they’re great for helping read that morning newspaper or magazine over a cuppa! Prices start from £69 with free shipping. They also have a risk-free 30-day trial.

Readly: The Ultimate Magazine Subscription – Just imagine having access to over 2100 magazines on your tablet or smartphone for only £7.99 per month! No more having to tidy up piles of magazines off the coffee table, no more forgetting to buy the latest issue while shopping. Simply sign up (click here for a free one month trial!), select the magazines you want to read and you’ll be notified when new issues are released. Plus, you can share this magazine app with up to five people in your family at no extra cost! You can download magazine issues for offline use, and cancel at any time too. We’re thinking it’s quite a brilliant app, to be honest! Do try it out! You can sign up for their one month trial using only your email address. No payment details are taken.
