We Should Cocoa

Welcome to We Should Cocoa – a chocolate challenge.  This is a monthly cooking event for food bloggers based on … you guessed it … chocolate!

Conceived by Choclette over at Chocolate Log Blog and Chele of Chocolate Teapot fame, the idea is to make something with chocolate each month.  You can use any sort of chocolate or cocoa substance and use any ingredient that you like.  But you must include the special ingredient or theme selected by the host.  It can be sweet or savoury, simple or complicated; be as creative as you like.  You can use anyone’s recipe (acknowledging the source of course) or make up your own.

This month I have the honour of guest hosting the We Should Cocoa chocolate challenge and I challenge you all to share your chocolate ice cream & toppings recipes! These can be made entirely of lovely rich chocolate, or contain chocolate, white, dark milk, or be an ice cream topping like the perfect chocolate sauce or a tutorial on how to make the most gorgeously thick chocolate shavings.

I love chocolate but the only in bar form! I am not so keen on chocolate milkshakes, cakes or ice-cream! Weird eh?

Ice-cream is just what I want at this time of year and the thought of luscious sauces and topping has now made me very hungry indeed. Lovely theme Elizabeth. Thank you for hosting.

Instagram post 2196703519799623185_694267923 #ad This Christmas, why not impress your dinner guests with a showstopping Turkey Wellington recipe with cranberries and toasted hazelnuts - it's super easy to make, and best of all you can prepare it in advance! So all you need to do Christmas morning is pop it in the oven, and open a bottle of @yellowtailuk Jammy Red Roo. Jammy Red Roo is [yellow tail]'s most fun, festive red wine, and it pairs perfectly with turkey. You can find the recipe and a full-length recipe video on my YouTube channel; link in profile. [yellow tail] is all about bringing happiness to your Christmas table, with wines to be enjoyed with the food you like. [yellow tail] is offering one of my UK followers the chance to win a £50 Waitrose voucher so you can buy the ingredients to make this recipe and try this wine. To enter, simply leave a comment below and tag a friend who you would like to share a bottle of festive Jammy Red Roo with! Make sure you’re following me and @yellowtailUK, and all entries must be 18+. The winner will be randomly selected on the 16th of December. Instagram post 2196622435497804197_694267923 Hands up, who else wants to run away from it all and go live on a boat or in a van? This beauty is the Agnes Kay II owned by @agneskay_charters and one of the (many!) projects I’m working on right now involves this boat as a venue for an epic adventure trip next summer. This boat is my happy place - all I need to worry about while on board is making cups of tea and tying ropes. The simple life. #boatsofinstagram #agneskaycharters #caledoniancanal #visitscotland #scotland #scotspirit #outandaboutscotland #yourscotland #scotland_insta #boat #canal #boat #fishingboat #adventurethatislife #explore_scotland #explore #exploremore #getoutsideandplay
Instagram post 2190922388793873030_694267923 #ad No Christmas cookie decorating skills? No worries! Just whip up a batch of gingerbread cookies (clickable recipe link in bio!) using the @brevilleUK HeatSoft hand mixer, and decorate them with ugly Christmas sweaters! All you need to do is to make some easy Royal Icing, pipe your sweater shape onto your easy homemade gingerbread cookies, and then decorate with some Christmas themed sprinkles. The Breville HeatSoft hand mixer, with its softening technology, heats cold butter to room temperature 12x faster too, so there's no need to wait for your cold butter to come to room temperature for making the cookies. It was awarded the 2019 Good Housekeeping Institute approved logo in 2019 for being a 'useful addition to any kitchen'. A perfect gift idea for any bakers on your Christmas list this year! #12bakesofChristmas #enhancingtheeveryday #christmascookies #gingerbread #uglychristmassweater #giftideas #christmasgiftidea #baking
