In collaboration with Tile Mountain.
Our kitchen is in desperate need of renovation. Our house was built back in the 1970s and I’m pretty sure we’ve still got the original nicotine stain coloured kitchen tiles and faux wood effect counter-tops that were installed way back when. Everything is falling apart. Unfortunately, we live in rented accommodation so there’s really nothing much we can do about it and our landlord has no intentions of updating our kitchen any time soon.
Well, there is something we could do about it – we could install a new kitchen ourselves, but my husband is reluctant to invest money into a property that we don’t own, so we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. I’ll keep working on him… perhaps he’ll concede.
In the meantime, I’ll continue to use a variety of backdrops for my food photography, pretending that my kitchen is light, bright and modern and I’ll daydream about what kind of kitchen I’d really like to have.
After spending 20 years working in the tile industry the founders of Tile Mountain realised that the internet was fast becoming a destination of choice for many customers. Their team team have a wealth of knowledge of the ceramic and stone tile sector and can help you with any queries on your project, from design to care to cost. Their buying team purchase tiles direct from factories around the world, with quality of product being of paramount importance, meaning they can keep their prices afforable.
Tile Mountain understand that people often want to see, feel and hold a tile in their hand before making a final decision. Customers can browse their website and order samples with free delivery.
I am quite fond of natural stone and while browsing through the Tile Mountain website I found three designs I particularly liked – Muralla Tiles (pictured far, above), the London Red Brick tiles (pictured above, centre) and the lighter brighter Hudson Tiles, pictured above .
I could really see myself working in a kitchen with those lovely tiles.
