ScotFood 3 February 2014 – Orkney & Shetland

Published on January 28, 2014 • Last updated November 28, 2017 by Elizabeth Atia

Pencil this date in your diary! I am delighted to announce that I am one of the hosts for the second #ScotFood Twitter chat of 2014 on Monday 6 February from 9 – 10 pm.

The #ScotFood Twitter Chats were established in June 2013 by Susan McNaughton (@SusanMcNaughton) in her role as social media manager for the Crail Food Festival, and in consultation with Christopher Trotter (@CTScotFood), Fife’s Food Ambassador.
The idea behind the chats is to provide a regular meet up between foodies, food producers, chefs, restaurants, cafés and anyone with an interest in promoting or consuming Scottish Food and Drink.
Joining in the chat provides you with new ideas, allows you to meet new people who share your interests, and to discover more about our abundant Scottish larder.
A different region of the country provides the hosts each month, allowing others to discover more about regional differences as well as seasonal specialities.

All you need to join in is a Twitter account, and to tag your tweets #ScotFood. Photo sharing is welcome throughout the chat – the more the better! Just tag your photo #ScotFood or use it to answer one of the questions. Be sure to check out the Orkney and Shetland Pinterest board with links to local producers and foodies.

Follow the hosts for #ScotFood chat to see the questions being tweeted out. This month’s hosts are:

Elizabeth @TangoRaindrop
Russell & Naiomi Bremner @OrkneyBuffalo

The hosts (and @SusanMcNaughton) will be tweeting out the questions for the chat, which will be:

21:00 Q1 Introduce yourself to #ScotFood: first name, first part of postcode, your company and what it does.

21:10 Q2 Have you ever visited Orkney and/or Shetland? If so, what local produce did you try? #ScotFood

21:20 Q3 What Orkney and/or Shetland food or recipe would you recommend for others to try? #ScotFood

21:30 Q4 Valentine’s Day is coming. What Orkney or Shetland treats would you gift your sweetheart? Chocolates? Fudge? #ScotFood

21:40 Q5 How could food producers in Orkney and Shetland raise awareness of their products on the mainland? #ScotFood

21:50 Q6 What else would you like to share with #ScotFood about Orkney and Shetland? #ScotFood

22:00 #ScotFood chat ends. Next month the focus is on Fife!

If you’d like to join in the #ScotFood chat here are some tips for participants.

We hope to see you there!
