A quick, summery salad dressing made with the Zyliss Easy Pull Food Processor.
I love playing with new kitchen gadgets, I really do, so when Zyliss approached me some time ago and asked if I would like to test out their brand new Easy Pull Food Processor I jumped at the chance.
Their new manual Zyliss Easy Pull Food Processor is a revolutionary new way to chop, mix and puree foods simply by pulling a handle. No electricity is required.
It has a 750 ml bowl with a silicone non-slip base, a perfect size for whipping up a smoothie, soup or salsa side dish, while patented Swiss designed twin blades in between two sweeper arms keeps the food in the path of the blades themselves – creating an even chop throughout. This is something I’ve grumbled about with the small bowl attachment in my old food processor – you’d have to keep scraping up the food stuck to the bottom of the bowl and processing again, where with this handy little gadget three pulls of the handle will give you an even coarse chop, and 8-10 will give you an even fine chop.
Of course, the best way to try out a new product though is to put it to the test. The vegetable growing season is in full swing now and our vegetable boxes arrive packed full of gorgeous, vibrant fresh produce. Our veg box providers make the most amazing tasting salad blend with a variety of flavour packed leaves. Very little, if anything, is needed to enhance these salad leaves, but I thought I’d experiment and make a raspberry vinaigrette in my new food processor.
In this simple salad dressing, olive oil and red wine vinegar are combined with a handful of fresh raspberries, a small clove of garlic and a touch of sea salt and black pepper for a kick. Depending on the natural sweetness of your raspberries a little honey or agave syrup could be added, if desired.
I was really impressed with how quickly and easy it was to turn the ingredients into a reasonably smooth salad dressing. The handle requires very little effort to pull and finely chop everything in a matter of seconds.
Don’t take my word for it though, here’s a quick video to show you the Easy Pull Food Processor in action.
Compact size for easy storage – measuring approximately 12.5 cm in diameter and 12 cm high this is ideal for when you don’t have a lot of extra kitchen space.
The bowl and blades are dishwasher safe.
Affordable – only £24.99
The lid can not be submerged in water, meaning it was a faff to get the oil from making my salad dressing off the top of the lid by rinsing under the tap.
All in all though I am really impressed by the design of this kitchen gadget and I will be regularly using it in my kitchen instead of bringing out my chunky ancient food processor for small jobs.
