Win a Thanksgiving Giveaway Bundle with OXO UK!

Last Updated on November 13, 2017

Win over £57 worth of OXO UK products to help you prep your Thanksgiving dinner!

As an expat Canadian, I have many fond memories of Thanksgiving dinners around the family dining table at my grandparents’ house. My grandmother made the best roast turkey ever, with all the trimmings – stuffing, gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, vegetables and, one of my own personal favourites, a rather fantastic layered jello dessert with pineapple and bananas. It was served there right alongside the roast turkey too! So good!

Despite calling the UK home now for nearly 19 years, I still like to host the occasional Thanksgiving dinner for friends. I missed Canadian Thanksgiving this year as I was flying back across the Atlantic from Aruba, but the American Thanksgiving this year falls on the 23rd of November, and I’m teaming up with OXO UK to come up with a recipe or two to share with you!

I’ve picked a few things off their website to help me create my Thanksgiving dish – a large roasting tin is an essential, of course, for the turkey, as well as a new measuring jug, some rather snazzy measuring spoons designed to fit into spice jars (yay!) and a new swivel vegetable peeler. I’m still on the hunt for that perfect vegetable peeler, so fingers crossed this one will do the trick!

In the meantime, OXO have offered one of my UK readers this fab Thanksgiving Bundle of products worth over £57. All I’d like you to do, for your chance to win it, is to tell me what you think I should make for my Thanksgiving dinner with these products?

Non-Stick Pro Large Roasting Tin

Commercial-grade bakeware for a lifetime of baking adventures

The OXO Non-Stick Pro Large Roasting Tin is ideal for roasting your Thanksgiving turkey/poultry, meat and vegetables. It’s got square-rolled edges that add reinforcement for structure, strength and durability, and provide a secure grip for easy handling and transferring to and from the oven. The unique micro-textured pattern ensures even baking by minimising surface contact and promoting airflow and adds structural rigidity to help prevent warping.

Spice Jar Measuring Spoons

Fits into narrow jars for less mess and waste

Pumpkin pie spice anyone? Surely I’m not the only one frustrated by the fact my old measuring spoons don’t fit into the spice jars and everything has to be measured in half teaspoon increments? The Spice Jar Measuring Spoons’ narrow, stainless steel heads can be filled inside the jar, so you don’t have to pour powdery ingredients. The flat rims scrape off excess, so no spice is wasted. Contoured handle and flat heads allow spoons to sit on the counter without spilling. Set includes1 T, 1 tsp, ½ tsp, ¼ tsp and 1/8 tsp spice jar spoons.

Buy Yours Here! RRP £13

Angled Measuring Cup – 500ml

Angled to let you measure accurately from above

The patented angled surface allows you to see measurement markings from above as you’re pouring, so you can better measure ingredients without bending or lifting the cup to eye level. Contains markings for cups, ounces, and millilitres. Also available in 1-Cup and 4-Cup versions.

Buy Yours Here! RRP £9

OXO Swivel Peeler

Glides through even the toughest fruit and vegetable skins

A classic for firmer vegetables, the Swivel Peeler’s sharp, hardened stainless steel blade removes those inedible outer layers with ease and leaves all the good stuff underneath intact. The cushioned handle won’t slip, even when your hands are wet. Features a built-in potato eyer.

Get Yours Here. RRP £7.25

If it’s Thankgiving I would say keep it traditional, a roast turkey with all the trimmings. After that though, this set would be so useful all year. The next thing after Thanksgiving could perhaps be a Beef and butternut squash casserole with loads of seasonal veg – nice and warming in this cold weather.

I think I would like to make something different this year, a Vietnamese beef stew called Bo Kho. Although I love turkey, I have been traveling overseas for much of the year and as my father does not like turkey, and hopes to go to Vietnam, this is my idea of bringing a taste of Vietnam to him. All the oxo kit would be needed!

Use the measuring spoons to make fabulous pastry with to make into a lovely apple pie. Don’t forget to buy some nice Wensleydale cheese to go with it. As we say in Yorkshire “An apple pie without some cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze” Whatever you make, I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
