In collaboration with Pure Chimp #Supertea: 100% natural goodness.
We all know how good raw vegetables are for our health. Sometimes, though, it can be difficult to get all the goodness of these raw vegetables into our bodies without eating piles and piles of salad.
This is where a masticating slow juicer comes into its own.
I use the Froothie Optimum 600 slow juicer for my vegetable juices, and with this gorgeous green juice I’ve revved it up a notch by whisking in a teaspoonful of ceremonial grade green tea powder from Pure Chimp – creating a proper veggie zinger breakfast juice!
Pure Chimp, based in Cambridgeshire, have been selling ceremonial grade matcha green tea powder now since 2013. They’ve now expanded their range to include a wide variety of 100% natural skin, hair and health care products too.
The best way to a healthy looking outside is to start with what you put on the inside, so in this veggie zinger vegetable juice we’ve got:
- an apple – high in antioxidant polyphenols
- grapes – rich sources of vitamins A, C, B6 and folate as well as loads of minerals
- kohlrabi – high in vitamin C, B6 and potassium
- celery – a great source of vitamin K and molybdenum
- cucumber – rich in many B vitamins
- broccoli – contains vitamin C and a whole host of antioxidant phytonutrients
- spinach – provides protein, iron, vitamins and minerals
- green tea powder – very high in antioxidants
The Pure Chimp website says that their matcha green tea contains 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea, equivalent to 10 cups of green tea in one serving. A natural source of caffeine (35 mg per serving) it can help increase energy levels without the anxiety, and may also help with weight loss!
Irregardless of any potential health benefits, this juice tastes fantastic. Vegetable juices can often taste a bit… like liquefied grass… (trust me, I’ve made a few of these!) but the addition of an apple and a handful of grapes adds a pleasant sweetness to the drink, while the matcha green tea powder energizes from within. A great start to a morning!
Pure Chimp Matcha Green Tea retails at £8.95 for a 30 gram pouch, or £14.95 for a 50 gram jar, although it’s currently (at the time of writing) on sale. 5% of their profits are donated to charity.
Pure Chimp have kindly offered my readers the chance to win one of five 50 gram jars of their Matcha green tea powder, so scroll down to the bottom of this post for the Rafflecopter entry form!

I love veggie juice and green smoothies. I’m going to add a bit of tea to my next ones. Thanks for the tip!
Hi, we can also add some citric juice (lemon or orange) too.
The vitamin C contained in orange or lemon juice will help to increase the staying power of the antioxidant contained in Matcha. This allow us to absorb more benefit from every cup of matcha!
I like your recipe. I think I will try it with the culinary matcha from Zendori next time. I heard culinary matcha is better when mixing with other ingredients compared to ceremonial matcha.
