Preventing food waste one recipe at a time.
The No Waste Food Challenge is a food blogging challenge designed to get us sharing the clever and creative ways we’ve prevented food waste by turning something which otherwise might have ended up in the landfill into something incredibly delicious and moreish!
If you would like to link up your recipe you can find the details over on the official No Waste Food Challenge page.
In the meantime, here are 34 fantastic recipes from food bloggers all around the world! This is the February and March round up as I started a part time job in the village back in February and have become frightfully behind in my blogging! My sincerest apologies for taking so long to get this up, but nonetheless, it’s up!

LOVE this collection!! I hate wasting food but also hate eating old food haha, so this is perfect for me – great ways to dress things up so they no longer feel sub-par!
Katerina
Great collection of recipes that use leftovers. It is such a pity throwing all this food! I try not to throw almost anything!
Kate - gluten free alchemist
The round up may have been delayed Elizabeth, but it was worth waiting for! What an incredible array of dishes. I love the grouping into types of dish. It makes it even easier to get inspired!
Thanks so much for hosting. It’s such a fab challenge. You must be extra busy now you are working (and with everything else that has gone on for you recently!!!)
Johanna GGG
I enjoyed how you divided up the dishes into types of meals. So much good food comes out of these leftovers! And nice to see my soup at the top of the page on the montage!
Sarah Franks
Great tips! Food waste is a huge problem, both on an individual level and a global one. We compost any leftover veg and often freeze extra portions, too.
Elizabeth
Thanks Sarah, I do love the inspiring recipes that get shared in this linky. You’re right – food waste is a really big problem with us in the west. We need a radical rethink.

Chuckling slightly at the idea of leftover nutella! Great tips, especially the ones for leftover egg white / yolk – that always happens to me!
Elizabeth
Heehee, I know what you mean! 😀 I tend to freeze egg whites, but then I end up with a dozen or so of them to use up at once!
Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes
Lots of lovely food in this post. We have been so conscious of using up all of the food in the cupboards and fridge before doing the weekly shop to prevent waste.
Elizabeth
It’s not easy to get creative with the last bits in the cupboard sometimes, I find, but it is doable! 🙂
Kate Cass
